The Conference

On November 24 and 25, 2008 there will take place in Montevideo the 5th Conference of Production, Processing and Trading of Meat, with the traditional name "Del Campo al Plato". This activity is jointly organized by LATU (Technological Laboratory of Uruguay), INIA (National Institute of Agricultural Research) and INAC (National Meat Institute) and will take place at LATU's Conference Room.

This Conference has already been instituted as an opportunity to provide relevant key players in the meat chain with an update of the most important aspects for the industry, founded by national and international experts, with the complement of spaces to generate reflection and contribute to strengthening the integration of the meat processing chain. To achieve these objectives within the current reality, the following topics will be covered:

  • What the outlook for meat production in a world of dizzying changes is and will be.
  • Quality Audits on the Meat Chain.
  • New IT and communication technologies for efficient management of the Meat Chain.
  • Trends and demands of European and American consumers and the position of Uruguayan meat in those markets.
